Autism Software to Help Children in the Middle East
Tuesday November 18, 11:48 am ET

COLUMBIA, SC--(MARKET WIRE)--Nov 18, 2008 -- Accelerations Educational Software (AES), a leading developer of software for autism and other developmental disorders, is pleased to announce a collaborative effort with Qatar-based Anzima. The strategic partnership will help introduce AES programs in the Middle East, significantly benefiting children with special needs.

Together with AES, Anzima will offer software support in Arabic and English and also set up representatives to provide support and services.

"This is a huge step forward for our company," says Karl Smith, founder of Accelerations Educational Software.

"People tend to forget that autism is a global epidemic and this partnership will help get our products in the hands of children outside the United States," he adds.

Smith recently wrapped up a two-week visit to Doha, Qatar, where he appeared live on a 40-minute national television program and was a featured speaker at a two-day autism workshop at the Red Crescent.

For the initial rollout, Anzima plans to introduce an English version of the DT Trainer, the first product developed by AES. English is the second language in the region.

An Arabic version will soon follow, along with the Activity Trainer, a video modeling software for children with autism.

"I've seen the effectiveness of the DT Trainer on my own son with autism," says Mariam Al-Rashdi, a representative for Anzima and regional spokesperson for children with autism and other learning disabilities. "I feel it's important for all the children in our area to have access to these kinds of learning tools."

The DT Trainer launch in English is the first step in a broader strategy to help children in the Middle East. With the Arabic translations, many more children with autism and other learning disabilities will be able to benefit as well.

"This is a win-win scenario," notes Smith. "Our programs will help children in the Middle East and in return, the revenue brought in from this partnership will allow us to grow and expand our operations, ultimately impacting children here in the US."
