The Greater Lewisville Special Education PTSA will hold its December program, a book discussion about “See Sam Run,” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 11.

Meet local Author Peggy Heinkel-Wolfe, a parent who lives in Argyle. The book is about her experience and growth in raising her son Sam, who has autism. Anyone whose life has been touched by a developmental disability will identify with “See Sam Run” and with Heinkel-Wolfe's experiences as she explains how she learned to understand her son's needs and in doing so not only helped him grow and develop, but transformed herself with a newfound ability to love in the process.

The program will be at Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church, 6101 Morriss Road in Flower Mound (by Marcus High School), lower level Room 115. Social time and refreshments will be at 6 p.m. There will be a short presentation from Excite! Gym about their Superkids Program for children with special needs, followed by the book talk from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Child care for SEPTSA members can be reserved online the week prior to the program. Details and a link to RSVP as well as a link to reserve child care can be found at www.lisdseptsa.txpta.org or by calling 469-293-6343.

SEPTSA and Borders Bookstore will co-host a Special Needs Storytime at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 6 at the Vista Ridge Borders location, 2403 Stemmons Freeway in Lewisville. Event includes Santa stories and a visit with a therapy dog. Storytime is for all ages and everyone is welcome.
